Setting Up Hospitality Types

Hospitality types represent the physical areas or units within the restaurant. Hospitality types are the sales types in use in a restaurant. Sales types can control prices, VAT handling, item stock locations and dimensions (Project, Department).

For each hospitality type:

  • Pick an existing sales type or create a sales type that represents the hospitality type.
  • Insert the type by selecting the restaurant and the sales type.
  • Get to know the templates that are available, and if you find one that you can use, apply the template.
  • If you do not want to use a template, decide on what kind of service the hospitality type stands for (Service Type). Just by selecting the Service Type, the program selects appropriate options as Layout View and After Transaction Posted.

If orders are sent to the kitchen for this type:

  • you also need a service flow.
  • select the display/printing options appropriate (they depend on whether you are using menu types (starters, main courses...), quick service, or dining table service, and so on).
