Secondary currency price on labels

The Label management for LS Central extension can print a discounted price and one or more secondary currency prices on a shelf label, in addition to the regular price. Both work for shelf labels created per store and for Price Group Labels.

Discount price on labels

Shelf labels and Price Group Labels both have a Discount Price, a Discount Valid Until date, and a Comp. Price on Shelf/Label field:

Field Description
Discount Price The discounted price to print, calculated from active Periodic Discount offers (line discounts and discount offers) that apply to the item, store, and label date.
Discount Valid Until The date the contributing periodic discount expires. When a label is created with a discount, a sibling label valid from the day after this date is created upfront, so the post-discount price is picked up automatically once the offer ends, without waiting for a further data change to trigger regeneration.
Comp. Price on Shelf Label / Comp. Price on Label A comparison price (for example, a price per unit such as per kg or per litre), calculated from the item's Comparison Unit Code.

On the pre-designed EPL shelf label layout, when Discount Price is not zero it replaces the regular price as the printed price. When Comp. Price on Shelf Label is not zero, it is printed as an additional comparison-unit price line. If you use your own label layout Codeunit, apply the same fields as needed.

Each shelf label function has a Label Presentation and a Discount Label Presentation field, set on the Shelf label functions page. The Label Presentation is used when no discount applies; the Discount Label Presentation is used when a discount applies (falling back to Label Presentation if left blank). This lets electronic shelf labels render a different template for discounted items — see Pricer Electronic Shelf Labels.

Secondary currency price on labels

You can print one or more prices in a currency other than the store's local currency on a label, for example for cross-border stores. Configure this per shelf label function:

  1. Open Shelf label functions.
  2. Select a label function line and click the Extra Currency Price Setup action.
  3. Add a line for each secondary Currency Code to print, and set the Currency Price Method:
    • Use Price from Sales Prices setup — uses a sales price line whose Currency Code matches the setup line, if one exists for the item, price group, and label date.
    • Calculate price based on Exchange Rate — always converts the label's local-currency price to the secondary currency using the currency exchange rate valid on the label date.
    • Price Line with Exchange Rate Fallback — tries the sales price line first, and calculates from the exchange rate only if no matching price line is found.

The calculated currency prices are stored per label line and can be reviewed from the Currency Prices action/indicator on the Price Group Labels page, or from the Extra Currency Price Setup action on Shelf Label Functions.
