Preparation and Setup

The Franchiser and the Franchisee are different legal entities and are set up separately in different databases. The setup configuration for those entities is very similar. If there is a difference in the setup for either one, this is pointed out in a note in the instructions in this section.

Insert Default Data

For new Franchise setups, we recommended that you run the Insert Default Data action in the Retail Setup page to set up the necessary information for the Franchise module. When that is done, the setup continues manually.

Important:  Insert Default Data sets up the data with the Franchiser in mind. However, most of the setup is the same for the Franchiser and the Franchisee. Differences are pointed out in notes in the articles in this section.

To Insert Default Data for the Franchise setup

  1. Click the icon, enter Retail Setup, and select the relevant link.
  2. Click the Insert Default Data action.
  3. Click the Clear All action.
  4. Select the Franchise Settings check box.
  5. Click the Insert action, and then click Yes to finish.

You have now inserted the required default data for Franchise into the database. The setup continues in the following articles.
