The Hospitality Status Setup table contains all the states that can be identified for dining tables when you combine their dining table status, kitchen status, KOT status, transaction status, and reservation status (see Statuses in Dining Table Management). The standard statuses are inserted automatically when you insert default data or register the Restaurants module.

The statuses

Status No. Status Status No. Status
1 Free 12 Bill Printed
2 Seated 13 Paid
3 Occupied 14 Not Available
4 To Be Cleaned 15 Locked
5 Not Sent 16 Allocated
6 Error 17 Announced
7 Sent 18 Fired
8 Started 19 Plated
9 Finished 20 Partially Seated
10 Ready for Serving 21 Fully Seated
11 Served

Partially Seated and Fully Seated are used on dining areas with Multiple Seatings on a Dining Table. See Table states on a multiple-seatings dining area.

How a status gets its look

The system maps the state of the dining table to a status number in this table. It then finds the menu line of the Adjusting the Appearance and Info on Dining Table Buttons that has the same key number (Key No. = Status No.) and applies the properties of that line (skin, font, and glyphs) to the dining table button. The menu line uses the HOSPSTATUS command, and acts as the GUI template for the status. The Dining Table Button Menu is part of the dining area, where you decide how the dining table button looks for each status.

The allocation statuses are not part of this table. Their look is set up with the ALLOC_STATUS command. See Allocation Statuses.

Editing the statuses

Note: Do not change anything in the table except the content of the Description on POS field.

  • To set up the standard statuses (again), choose the Populate Status Setup action.
  • Edit the Description on POS field as desired. It is the description of the status that may appear on the dining table button.

Tip: If you need more statuses, add new status options to the table. It still requires further coding if you add a status.
