Set Up Markets, Catalogs, and Price Lists in Shopify
Map Shopify Price Lists to Sales Price Lists in Central
Example: Publish Prices for a Market in a Different Currency
eCommerce - Shopify supports synchronizing prices from LS Central to Shopify Markets. Markets let a Shopify store present different prices, typically in a different currency, to shoppers depending on the market they are shopping in.
Behind each Market’s Catalog, Shopify keeps a Price List in the market’s currency. LS Central retrieves these Shopify Price Lists and maps each one to a Sales Price List and currency in LS Central, so that it can calculate and publish the correct, currency‑specific price for every item in that market.
Note: Shopify Markets, Catalogs, and their Price Lists must be configured in Shopify Admin before they can be mapped and synchronized.
The Market Support feature lets you:
- Configure Markets, Catalogs, and Price Lists in Shopify Admin.
- Retrieve the Shopify Price Lists into LS Central using the Get Price Lists action.
- Map each Shopify Price List to a LS Central Sales Price List and currency code on the Market Prices mapping page.
- Support multi‑currency pricing: whenever prices are sent to Shopify, every mapped market is calculated and published in its own currency at the same time, alongside the store’s standard prices.
Set Up Markets, Catalogs, and Price Lists in Shopify
Before prices can be mapped in LS Central, the market and its catalog must first exist in Shopify Admin; Shopify then keeps a Price List for that catalog automatically. For the full procedure, including creating the market, creating and assigning a catalog, and disabling price rounding, see Markets Setup.
- In Shopify Admin, create the Market you need (for example, Iceland) and a Catalog assigned to that market.
- Disable price rounding on the catalog’s currency so that LS Central can publish the exact prices it calculates.
Map Shopify Price Lists to Sales Price Lists in Central
To map a Shopify Price List to a Sales Price List:
- Click the
icon, enter Shopify Administration and select the relevant link. - Click Related - Mapping - Market Prices to open the Price Lists mapping page.
- Click Actions - Get Price Lists to fetch all the Price Lists configured in Shopify. This adds one row per Shopify Price List (one for each Market’s catalog) that is not yet in the mapping, showing its Shopify Price List Id and name.
- For each row, enter an existing Sales Price List Code in LS Central that has price lines for the items you want to publish, and enter the matching Currency Code.Note: When prices are sent, LS Central looks up the price line for each item on the Sales Price List you entered, filtered to the exact Currency Code you entered here. If that Sales Price List has no line for an item in that currency, no price is sent to Shopify for that item in this market. The Currency Code should also match the currency Shopify uses for that Market’s Price List, so the values line up correctly on the storefront.
- Return to the Shopify Administration page and click Update - Prices to send prices to Shopify. This single action sends the store’s standard item prices and, for every mapped row on the Market Prices page, the item prices calculated in that row’s currency, published straight to the corresponding Shopify Price List.
- Open Shopify Admin - Markets, select the market, and check its Catalog/Price List to confirm that the updated prices are now shown in that market’s currency.
Note: For more information about the Market Prices action and where it sits among the other Mapping and Update actions, see the Market Prices and Actions sections of Mapping.
Example: Publish Prices for a Market in a Different Currency
The following example illustrates how the setup and mapping steps above work together to publish prices in a market’s own currency. It builds on the demonstration data used elsewhere in this help set (see Discounts), where item 40400 - Northern Hat is priced at 29.00 MYR in the base store.
- In Shopify Admin, create a market named Iceland and a catalog assigned to it, with the catalog currency set to ISK and price rounding disabled. See Markets Setup. Shopify automatically keeps a Price List in ISK for this catalog.
- In LS Central, on the Market Prices mapping page, click Actions - Get Price Lists. A new row appears for the Iceland Price List, showing its Shopify Price List Id and name.
- On that row, enter the code of a Sales Price List that has a price line for item 40400 - Northern Hat (and the other items you want to publish) in Icelandic Krona, and enter ISK as the Currency Code.
- Click Update - Prices. LS Central looks up item 40400’s price on that Sales Price List for currency ISK and sends it straight to the Iceland Price List in Shopify.
- Open the Shopify online store, shop from the Iceland market, and verify that item 40400 - Northern Hat is now shown priced in Icelandic Krona instead of the base 29.00 MYR price.
Note: Repeat the mapping and Update - Prices steps for each additional market that needs its own currency and pricing.
