The Release Calendar must be defined before it can be linked to locations and vendors.
To access the Release Calendars page:
- Click the
icon, enter Release Calendars, and select the relevant link.
In the General FastTab of the Release Calendar page, you can set a No. (can be populated from a number series) and description for the calendar. The No. of Release Calendar Actions field shows the number of release actions that are active for the current calendar. The actions are created initially by using the Create/Update Actions button on the Release Calendar Links page, and they will be subsequently maintained by the release calendar job.
You can use the Vendor Location Release Calendars action to view all the vendor location combinations that are linked to the current calendar.
The Release Actions are created based on all the lines that have been set up in the Lines FastTab. One line can bring exceptions that overwrite the rules added by other lines.
Fields in the Lines FastTab:

| Priority | This field has five possible values. It is used in case there are overlapping lines. The line with a higher priority will be considered over the ones with a lower priority when deciding which action should be taken at a specific date and time. The system does not allow you to set the same priority for an overlapping period or for overlapping days. |
| Period From/Period To | These fields are used to set a specific period of time. One or both values can be blank. Blank values indicate that the line is active for an unlimited period while having values set indicates that the line is active only for the specified period. |
| Week Day | This field is used to set an action on a specific weekday (for example, release orders only on Mondays and Wednesdays, or, release orders every day except on Saturdays and Sundays). |
| Release Time | The time at which the release will be performed. This field is not used in case the Recurrence Start/End Time is set. |
| Recurrence Start/End Time | These fields are used if you want to perform the release action multiple times during the day, with a certain frequency. These fields define the time interval in which the release will be performed. |
| Hourly Recurrence | This field is used to set the frequency of releases per day. It is used only in combination with Recurrence Start/End Time. |
| Stop Release | If this setting is enabled, the release will not be performed in the specified day/period. It is used in combination with other line(s) that have a release action for that period and have a lower priority (for example, you have a line with very low priority that is set to release orders every day at 6:00 AM, and then you have a line with low priority that is set to stop the release on Saturdays). |
| Exclude Item Group | This field specifies the group of items to be excluded from the orders that are released at the specified date/time. If this field is left blank, then no item is excluded. |
| Source Code Filter | Only purchase orders with a matching value in the Created By Source Code field are considered for release. |
| Comment | This field is automatically populated and updated by the system every time a field from the line is changed. It describes what the current line will do, taking into consideration the values from all the other fields. |
