To enable the functionality, you must set some general parameters and enable the vendors and locations that will use the Release Calendars.

To set parameters in Replen. Setup

  1. Click the icon, enter Replen. Setup, and select the relevant link.
  2. In the Numbering FastTab, select a number series from the Release Calendar No. Series field to be used for the Release Calendars.
  3. In the Integration FastTab, you can enable the Release Purch. Order with Release Calendar check box. This value will be taken as default in the Replenishment Templates, which will then be transferred to the purchase orders created from the Replenishment Journals.
  4. In the Release Calendar FastTab, fill in the relevant fields:
  5. Field Description
    Release Details Period This field defines for how far into the future the system creates and maintains the "calendar actions" (release times). When an action is processed (the orders that are supposed to be processed at that specific date and time for the specific vendor and location are released), that action is deleted from the top of the actions list and a new action is automatically added at the end of the list. The list contains the actions for the period starting from today until today and the DateFormula specified in this field.
    Create Purch. Order for Excluded Lines In case an Exclude Item Group is set for a release action (coming from the release calendar), the lines containing items from that group are deleted from the purchase orders when they are released. If this setting is enabled, the system creates a new purchase order with the excluded items. If the setting is disabled, the items will still be excluded, but they will not be added to a new purchase order.
    Days to Keep Logs When processing the actions (release orders) the system creates log entries. These log entries are cleaned up by the DELETELOGS Scheduler job (set up with codeunit 99001486 LSC Delete Logs). In this field you can specify for how long these logs should be kept before they are deleted.

To enable vendors for Release Calendars

Only the orders belonging to the vendors that are enabled for Release Calendars are processed by the Release Calendars functionality.

The vendors can be grouped into Vendor Calendar Groups. This way, the setup can be simplified by setting a calendar for an entire group of vendors instead of setting it for every single vendor.

You can define the vendor groups in the Vendor Calendar Groups page.

To enable a vendor for Release Calendars:

  1. Click the icon, enter Retail Vendor List, and select the relevant link.
  2. Select the vendor that you want to enable for Release Calendars, and double-click to open the Retail Vendor Card.
  3. In the Release Calendar FastTab, activate the Enable for Release Calendar setting.
  4. Select the Release Calendar Group in case the vendor is part of a group.

To enable locations for Release Calendars

Only the orders belonging to the locations that are enabled for Release Calendars are processed by the Release Calendars functionality.

The locations can be grouped into Location Calendar Groups. This way, the setup can be simplified by setting a calendar for an entire group of locations instead of setting it for every single location.

You can define the location groups in the Location Calendar Groups page.

To enable a location for Release Calendars:

  1. Click the icon, enter Locations, and select the relevant link.
  2. Select the location that you want to enable for Release Calendars, and double-click to open the Location Card.
  3. In the Release Calendar FastTab, activate the Enable for Release Calendar setting.
  4. Select the Release Calendar Group in case the location is part of a group.
