How to: Create a Pharmacy Item

  1. Click Pharmacy Products in the left navigation pane in the Pharmacy Role Center.
  2. Click New on the Home action menu.
  3. Fill in the fields in the General FastTab as described in the following table:

    Field Description
    Article No. Here you give the item an article number. If the article number has been given a predefined number series, you can press Tab on the keyboard. Note: The article number will be the same number as the No. in Retail Items.
    Item No. Here you give the item an item number. This number is most often the same number as the Article No..
    Description Here you write a description of the item.
    Item Type Here you specify the item type, for example R that stands for Requires Prescription.
    Product ID Here you select the pharmacy product number from a list. If the product has not been created yet, see How to: Create Pharmacy Product.
    Item Comment Here you can enter a text that is only visible on the Pharmacy Item card, for example, extra information about the item.
    Requires Prescription Select this check box, if the item requires a prescription.
    Exchangeable Here you select if the product is exchangeable for another item.
    Reason not Exchangeable Here you write the reason if the item is not exchangeable.
    Insurance Code Here you select the insurance code for the item, if provided by the health insurance authorities.
    Dispense Options Here you select the type of dispense options. This is used by the Pharmacies Dose Dispense module.
    Sales Restriction Code Here you specify if the item has any sales restrictions.
    Sales Stop Select this check box, if the item is in a sales stop for some reason.
    Available Here you select if the item is available to be put on a prescription.
    Available From Date Here you select a date, if you want the item to be available from a certain date.
    Deregistration Date Here you can select the date when the item was deregistered.
    Open Pack Item Select this check box, if the pharmacy item comes from an another pack.
    Pack Type Text Here you can enter information text for the pack.
    Inner Pack Type Code Here you select the type of the inner pack of the item, for example Blister.
    Daily Dose / Pack Here you can specify how many defined daily doses (DDDs) there are in the pack.
    Break Packs Allowed Here you specify if the item should be allowed for breaking.
    Quantity 1 Here you specify the outer pack of the pharmacy item.
    Quantity 2 Here you specify the inner pack of the pharmacy item.
    Quantity 3 This field shows how many units there are in one inner pack. The pack is defined in the Quantity 1 field.
    Total Quantity This field is a multiplication of the values in Quantity 1, Quantity 2, and Quantity 3.
    Quantity Unit Code Here you select the quantity unit code of the item, for example ML.
    Quantity Text This field adds the values from the Total Quantity field to the description in the Quantity Unit Code field.

In the Pricing FastTab it is possible to set the price down to, for example, stores. If nothing is selected, the price on the Retail Item Card applies for all stores.

In the Distribution FastTab the distribution of the item can be set down to Store, Customer, and Customer Group.

Note: This can also be done on the Retail Item Card.
