Configuring the EBT Card POS Command and Tender Type in POS
The POS command you registered earlier must be added to a POS button to display the remaining EBT balance and trigger EBT Card tender type as a payment method.
On that POS button, set the Parameter field to the Tender Type Code of the EBT Card (or EBT Cash) tender type created in EBT Tender Type Setup. The balance inquiry uses this code to look up the correct EBT balance.
Note: If the Parameter field is left blank or set to a tender type code that doesn't exist, the EBT balance inquiry fails with an error stating that the Tender Type Code is required or was not found.
Handling Insufficient EBT Balance Inquiries
If the customer's EBT card has an insufficient balance, a warning message appears.
To proceed:
- Use the EBT card to pay for the amount covered by the remaining EBT balance.
- Pay the remaining balance using cash or another payment method.
