CDC Transaction Data to the Central Platform

Every CDC transaction processed at the POS – whether the payment was approved, declined, cancelled, or overridden – must be reported to the Australian Government's Central Platform.

LS Central identifies a CDC transaction by checking the card BIN returned by the PED against the BINs registered on the tender type (see Tender Card Bin). When a match is found, a Transaction Data Upload record is created for the transaction and sent to the Central Platform API.

What is captured

Each upload contains the information required by the Central Platform, including:

  • Store and POS terminal identifiers.
  • Transaction date, time, and number.
  • Transaction type (S for sale, R for refund or void).
  • Restricted-item totals and non-restricted totals.
  • The Restricted Items Flag sent to the PED and the PED response (Approved, Declined, Cancelled).
  • The manager override flag, Staff ID, and timestamp, if applicable.
