The Replenishment module supports retail companies with or without a warehouse or with multiple warehouses.

To setup a location as a warehouse, you must select the Location is a Warehouse check box on the Location Card, the Replenishment FastTab.

In the Replenishment module you can set up one ore more warehouses, with one warehouse being considered the default warehouse.

Setting up the default warehouse

The default warehouse is set up on the Replen. Setup page.

In the Default Central Warehouse field in General FastTab, you can specify the warehouse to be used for all items.

The Default Warehouse 2 and Default Warehouse 3 fields can be filled out, if you wish for the store to replenish from a second and third warehouse, when the item cannot be fully replenished from the default warehouse. This is only applicable if Multi-Warehouse Replenishment is enabled.

Setting up additional warehouses

If there is more than one warehouse in the system, the exceptions from the default warehouse are registered on the Replen. From Warehouse page, which you can access by clicking the Replen. From Warehouse action under Related - Replenishment Setup action menu.

It is possible to define the exception warehouse for a Division, Item Category, Retail Product Group, Item No. and/or Store Location.

If more than one record is valid for the Item and Location combination, the most specific record is selected where Division is the least and Store Location is the most specific.

The Warehouse 2 Location Code and Warehouse 3 Location Code fields can be filled out, if you wish for the store to replenish from a second and third warehouse, when the item cannot be fully replenished from the first warehouse. This is only applicable if Multi-Warehouse Replenishment is enabled.

Example:

  • Only one warehouse is used
    • All items for Retail Product Group ACC will be replenished from the W0002 warehouse.
    • All Items in the Item Category HOMEAPPL will be replenished from W0002 warehouse.
  • With Multi-Warehouse Replenishment enabled
    • All items for Retail Product Group ACC will be replenished from the W0002 warehouse, and if the demand cannot be fulfilled, the items will be replenished from W0003 and W0004, until the demand is fulfilled or until the warehouses run out of stock.

Note: If the retailer does not have a warehouse, the head office can replenish the store by running Purchase Order Journals where the Purchase Order is delivered to the store.

Still, a default warehouse must be defined in the Replenishment Setup.

Geodata for locations

Latitude and longitude are the units that represent the coordinates in a geographic coordinate system. Every location has its address (which includes the number, the name of the street, city, post code, and so on), and every single point on the surface of earth can be specified by the latitude and longitude coordinates. LS Central is integrated with the Bing Maps API to populate latitude and longitude from the store or location address. The latitude and longitude can then be used to calculate route distance, route duration, and the direct distance between two stores or locations in Store Stock Redistribution.
