How to: Filter Modifier Options by Parent UOM

When you have items with a selection of unit of measures, such as coffee, it is useful to display only modifiers that have the same unit of measure as the parent item. Then, if you change the unit of measure for the parent item, the system automatically substitutes the existing modifier lines with the modifier lines with the new unit of measure.

Note:This feature requires POS Pop-up Version Enhanced.

To filter modifier options by parent UOM

1. Click the icon, enter Item Modifier List, and select the relevant link.
2. Create a new item modifier, or select an existing one.
3. Select Yes in the Filter by Parameter UOM field.
4. For each modifier item, create as many lines as there are units of measure.
5. For each line, select a unit of measure in the Unit of Measure field.
6. Adjust the Qty. per Unit of Measure field as needed.

When the user selects the parent item (such as the coffee), only those modifier items with the same unit of measure code as the parent item are shown in the pop-up panel.
