How to: Select a Dining Table by Keyboard Input
Normally, you select a dining table by pressing the table in the graphical layout or in the dining table button grid. As a result, a pop-up menu appears with the possible actions for that dining table.
You can also use a command button on a menu to bring up the alphabetic input panel or the numeric input panel where you enter the description of the dining table you want to select. The result is the same, a pop-up menu appears with the actions possible for the dining table. This can be useful in a dining area with a large number of dining tables.
The command used for this purpose is the HOSP-PRESS-TBL command with parameters TBLALPHAINPUT or TBLNUMERICINPUT.
Parameter TBLALPHAINPUT displays the alphabetic input panel where you enter the description of the dining table you want to work with, just like you had pressed the table on the layout or button grid.
Parameter TBLNUMERICINPUT displays the numeric input panel where you enter the number of the dining table you want to work with. Note: In this case the dining table descriptions must not contain any letters.
If no dining table is found with a description that matches the input exactly, an error message is displayed and you get another chance to enter the description in the input panel. You use the Cancel button to cancel the selection and close the input panel.
