This module is designed to provide system functionality to duty-free stores that require flexible handling of tax, pricing, and custom rules based on the traveling route and/or nationality of the customer.
The solution includes all the key functions a duty-free store needs, such as capturing boarding card data by scanner or manually and passport data manually. Based on flight information and nationality setup, the system can pick up the rules for:
- Tax free, tax refunds, final prices, and discounts.
- Product allowances and limitations, by quantity or amount.
- Security tamper-evident bag.
- The system also handles multi-leg boarding cards for in-transit passengers. In this case, rules can be set based on the final destination instead of the next-leg destination.
The travel retailer can give customers extra services as the module provides flight time warning and a currency utility for prices shown in different currencies.
Prerequisites:
The Duty free add-on for LS Central is usually implemented into a ready LS Central system or within the implementation of the LS Central system at a later stage. Common LS Central settings like stores, POS terminals, and POS design need to be in place. While implementing the LS Central system, the use of the Duty free add-on should be taken into account.
LS Retail Consulting needs to be involved in the implementation of Duty free add-on for LS Central. The first step is a pre-analysis to define the project scope having the customer's business in mind. The result of the pre-analysis is the definition of needed workshops.
Documentation on the Duty free add-on is done on project level.
The creation of Events for customizations is done by LS Retail Consulting. This work is chargeable as consulting work.
