This module is an extension on the Bookings for LS Central reservation module and supports the common needs of companies in the ferry and cruise operations industry.
The purpose of the module is to enable cruise and ferry companies and their on-board staff members to easily manage reservations and pre-paid services. The module helps to create a smooth and easy process to book and redeem reservations, with or without prepayments on the POS for the benefit of both customers and staff members.
Examples of functionality:
- Reservations linked to passenger identification/boarding cards.
- Table reservations with specific items reserved from an online platform.
- Table reservation seated and redeemed by passenger identification, fast and seamlessly.
- Allowing payment for a reservation to be used for other services.
- Value coupons for on-board use, specific to items or item groups at specific outlets or outlet groups.

Fast-Track POS for staffed or customer self-serviced reservation redemption.
The setup of the cruise and ferry industry system architecture is often limited to the fact that the network is fragile on open sea, and therefore the standard online functionality offered in the Bookings module has been extended to work in a distributed environment with replication and web services.
Web service calls to communicate with web booking processes and external booking systems have been added to extend the standard Bookings API.
The Ferry add-on solves many of the common needs of cruise and ferry companies that relate to reservations, pre-payments, and pre-paid services (PPS) by enhancing standard functionality offered in the Bookings module, LS Central, and Business Central.
Prerequisites:
The Ferry add-on for LS Central requires Bookings for LS Central.
The Ferry free add-on is usually implemented into an LS Central system at a later stage. Bookings for LS Central needs to be in place. CommonLS Central settings like stores, POS terminals, and POS design need to be in place. Web services need to be enabled and set up. While implementing the LS Central system, the use of the Ferry add-on should be taken into account.
LS Retail Consulting needs to be involved in the implementation of Ferry add-on for LS Central. The first step is pre-analysis to define the project scope having the customer's business in mind. The result of the pre-analysis is the definition of needed workshops.
