To finish a Paper Prescription Order
All Prescription Orders, other than e-Prescription Orders (which include Incoming Orders), are created in the same way. Prescription orders (other than e-Prescription orders) can be in the following formats:
- Paper orders
- Phone orders
- Fax orders
- Emergency orders
Note: Emergency orders are created the same way as the other three order types (paper, phone, and fax orders), except in the Type field where you would select Emergency when you create the order.
In the instructions below, a paper Prescription Order is made. Note: The process is the same for paper, phone, and fax Prescription Orders.

To create a paper Prescription Order in POS
- Log in to the POS.
- Select Customer Service in the sales menu.
- In LS Central, insert the customer's SSN or Customer Name in the Identify prescription owner field in the Customer Information FastTab, and press Enter. Note: The identification type is set to Customer by default.
- Select Pharmacy Staff.
- Click Paper on the bottom left of the screen. The Edit Prescription Order Line page opens where you can fill in information.
- Type the relevant information in the Prescription No., Issuer, Issued Item, Issued Quantity, No. of Withdrawals, Withdrawal Interval, and Dose Text fields.
- Click OK when the information has been filled in correctly.
The prescription order is now ready to be processed in the POS. The same process applies for other prescription formats (except e-prescriptions).
To finish a Paper Prescription Order
- Log in as a pharmacist in the POS.
- Select Customer Service on the Sales menu.
- Insert the customer'sSSN or Customer Name in the Identify prescription owner field on the Customer Information FastTab, and press Enter. Note: The identification type is set to Customer by default.
- Select Pharmacy Staff.
- Click E-prescriptions to see electronic prescriptions that belong to this SSN.
- Select a line and click Download.
The first step to finish an order is to mark the line(s) as picked:
- Click Confirm to confirm the prescription line. Note: The status of the line is now Reserved.
- Click Barcode Control, select Auto-Pick in the pop-up menu, and click Yes when the confirmation window appears. Note: The status of the line is now Reserved and Picked.
- To approve the line, click Approve in the menu. Note: The status of the line is now Approved and Picked.
The next step to finish the order:
- Click the Final Control tile in the menu.
- In Final Control, the pharmacist verifies that the order is correct.
- Click Approve in the menu. If there are more than one Prescription Order Lines in the order, the system moves automatically to the next line to confirm. Note: All lines must be approved, one by one, for the entire order to be counted as approved.
- Click either the Approve Order and to POS or Approve Order and Pay later action.
The order is now ready to be paid in the POS.
