Creating Customer in LS Central and Sync to Shopify

eCommerce - Shopify supports member management between LS Central and Shopify, keeping customer records consistent across both systems. In non‑B2B mode, customers are matched and synchronized in both directions using Member Contacts; in B2B mode, only the standard LS Central Customer record is used, and only in the direction from LS Central to Shopify.

The Member Management feature lets you:

  • Pull customers created in Shopify and turn them into Member Contacts in LS Central, or update the matching contact if one already exists.
  • Send Member Contacts created or updated in LS Central to Shopify, either on demand or automatically as part of the scheduled contact update job.
  • Automatically create a Member Contact on the fly when a Shopify order is pulled in, if no matching contact exists yet.

Initial Configuration

The Member Management options are configured on the Shopify Administration page for the store (the Shopify Setup Card), in the System and Web Hooks group:

Field

Description

B2B Mode

Specifies whether to use B2B mode, using Customer instead of Member Contact. When enabled, the Pull ‑ Contacts action is disabled, since customers can only be sent to Shopify, not pulled from it.

Send Contacts

Specifies whether to send member contacts to Shopify in non‑B2B mode when running the scheduled contact update job. This only affects the scheduler; the Update ‑ Customers action can always be run manually regardless of this setting.

Missing Contact Name

Specifies the default text used for a missing customer first or last name when a Shopify customer is pulled in with only one of the two populated. If left empty, a missing name causes an error instead.

Order creates contacts

Specifies whether order creation will create contacts that do not exist in LS Central yet. When enabled, pulling a Shopify order for a customer with no matching Member Contact (in non‑B2B mode) creates one automatically.

    • If a matching Member Contact is found, its details are updated with the data coming from Shopify.
