Issuing Coupons on the POS

You can create a button on the POS to manually issue coupons. The POS command is ISSUECOUPON, and its parameter is the code in the Coupon Header Code.

To issue the coupon described in the example below (20% off Leather Backpack), you need to enter COUP0119 in the Parameter field.

When you press this button on the POS, a new line is inserted into the POS Trans. Lines table, and you will see the line in the journal lines.

When the transaction is finalized or fully tendered, the system posts the transaction and creates an entry in the Trans. Coupon Entry table for the issued coupon.

The coupons issued this way are printed on the Receipt Printer, if the Extra Print Setup field in the coupon page was filled out. Coupons are also issued if an offer is triggered and it has Coupon specified in the Type column in the Additional BenefitsFastTab on the Discount Offers page.

A coupon is also issued for active Return coupons, if items listed in the Return Coupon card's Issue Restriction lines are sold on the POS.
