Pickup Cash Warning
On the General FastTab on the POS Functionality Profile Card, you can select whether the POS shows a warning for Pickup Cash. This would happen after a transaction, if the amount in the drawer exceeded the amount allowed in the drawer.
- For this to happen, select the POS Pickup Warning check box.
The options are set in the Tender Pickup Warning Type field and are the following:
- None - to get no warning.
- Always - to get a warning for cash transactions.
- Tender Used - to get a warning for transactions only (the system is programmed to do so).
If you decide to use the Tender Pickup Warning for cash, you must set Float Allowed and Remove/Float Type to 9.
The tender type Tender Remove/Float is used only by the system and is used for all Safe transactions.
It is possible to create more than one tender type for the Tender Remove/Float or the safe. One type can be used for the cash safe and another for the currency safe.
For cash, tender type Remove/Float (often no. 9) serves the purpose of a safe and is used by the system itself. In the setup for tender type Cash (no. 1) it is referred to this tender type as Remove/Float Type. When removing tender, the transaction is created using this tender type. Also when counting start float.
The Account No. on the Posting FastTab contains the account no. for the safe in the General Ledger.
The General Ledger should reflect the amount in the safe after each day.
You can define another tender type (for example no. 19) to be used for a currency safe.
You must enter the necessary information here:
- Click the
icon, enter Store List, and select the relevant link.
- Select a store, click Cash Management - Tender Types, select a tender type to open its card, and go to the Amount FastTab.
The POS Pickup Warning Amount and the POS Pickup Warning Text fields are activated, if you selected the POS Pickup Warning Type check box on the POS Functionality Profile Card, the General FastTab.
-
The Pickup Warning is then shown on the POS after a transaction is posted, if the cash amount exceeds the amount allowed in the drawer.
Note: If you select the Always option for the Tender Pickup Warning Type, it covers the occasion, regardless of the tender type, when there is too much cash in the drawer.
