How to: Set Up Floating Cashier with Web Service
This article is a quick overview of the Floating Cashier in the Functionality Profile.
Setup
Setup is on the POS Functionality Profile Card.
Note: The Send Transactions and Staff Validation check boxes in the Web Service Settings FastTab are mandatory when using Floating Cashier.
Logon check
The POS using the web service sends a query checking whether the staff member is logged on to another POS. If the staff member is logged on somewhere else, the current login attempt is refused.
If the POS logs the user out automatically, the web service should update this information in the remote database as well.
Error Handling
If the POS is unable to get answers from the web service, the logon is allowed.
X- and Z-Reports
If the Statement Method on the POS Terminal Card is Staff, the web service gets sales information for the staff from the remote database.

If the POS is unable to get answers from the web service, a line is printed on the report saying: THIS Z IS FOR TERMINAL X ONLY!
