How to: Set Up Devices for AppShell on Android
Enabling the AppShell to connect to hardware requires some configuration in LS Central.
Supported devices are printers, scanners, and EFTs.
Note: To enable AppShell to connect to the devices, they must be set to Device Host ###LSAPPSHELL in the configuration. For information on how to configure AppShell on the mobile device see Android.
Printer settings
- Open the hardware profile that is in use.
- On the Printer FastTab, set the Printer field to POSPrinter.
- Scroll down to the POS Printer FastTab, and click Assist in the ID field.
- Add the new device, and fill in fields as needed.
- Set the Device Host to ###LSAPPSHELL.
Scanner settings
- Open the hardware profile that is in use.
- Scroll down to the POS Scanners FastTab, and click Assist in the ID field.
- Add the new device, and fill in fields as needed.
- Set the ID to ###LSAPPSHELL.
- Set the Device Host to ###LSAPPSHELL.
Note: The device ID for scanner must be ###LSAPPSHELL.
EFT device settings
- Open the hardware profile that is in use.
- On the EFT FastTab, set the EFT field to External.
- Scroll down to the POS EFTs FastTab, and click Assist in the ID field.
- Add the new device, and fill in fields as needed.
- Set the EFT Server Host to ###LSAPPSHELL.
