Button on POS with the POS Command
This is a description of the setup needed if you want to use QR code scanning to select a hardware station for the LS Central app POS. You can use this if there are multiple app POSes that need to share a hardware station. You can also use this if you have multiple hardware stations for your POSs.
Prerequisites
Prior to this setup, you need to have set your hardware devices up in the Hardware Station Management Portal and turned on the Hardware Station service.
Setup in LS Central
In the LS Central Backoffice, you can create the Hardware Profiles that you want to use in your setup. For example, if you want to use two Hardware Stations, you create two Hardware Profiles, one for each station. Steps required for this:
- Open or create a Hardware Profile to use for one of the hardware stations.
- Make sure that the page is in Edit mode.
- On the Hardware Station FastTab, select the HWST Sync check box.
- In the HWST Host field, set the IP address of the machine hosting the Hardware Station Service (and all the hardware)
- Click the Detect Hardware action.
- Create another hardware profile for the other hardware station and repeat the above steps for it. Now with the IP address of the other Hardware Station Host.
Steps to create the QR Code
Use any tool to create the QR code. The code should be of the type Text, and is formatted this way: ##HardwareProfile## followed by the name of the hardware profile you wish to switch to or load. For example, ##HardwareProfile## #MYPROFILE, which would look like this:
If you would like to be able to switch back to the original hardware profile, you need to make a similar QR code for it. After closing the POS and opening it up again, the original hardware profile is the active again.
Button on POS with the POS Command
If you are using LS Central Demo database, a button has already been set up on POS terminal P0077 which is the demo terminal for the LS Central app. This button has the caption Scan\Phone Camera and uses the POS Command MOBILESCAN to open the mobile camera to use for scanning.
If you are not using the demo database, you would create a button on your POS with the MOBILESCAN POS Command.
