How to: View and manage cards on file for a member
To set a card as the default card
To activate or deactivate a card
A member can have one or more cards on file (card-on-file tokens) stored in the Token Vault. From the member's contact card, or from the activity contact card in Bookings, you can view these cards, set a card as the member's default card, and activate or deactivate a card.
To view the cards a member has on file
- Click the
icon, enter Member Contacts, and select the relevant link. - Open the member contact you want to review.
- Choose the Cards on File action.
The Cards on File page opens, showing only the cards on file that belong to that member, with the token type, card issuer, expiry date, and whether each card is the default card and whether it is active.
Note: The same action, with the same behavior, is available on the activity contact card in Bookings.
To set a card as the default card
- On the Cards on File page, select an active card that is not already the default card.
- Choose the Set as Default Card action.
- If another card was previously the default, you are asked to confirm that you want to replace it. Confirm the replacement.
The selected card becomes the member's default card, and the previous default card is no longer marked as default.
Note: If you choose Set as Default Card on a card that is already the default, or on a card that is not active, an error message tells you why the action cannot be completed.
To activate or deactivate a card
- On the Cards on File page, select the card you want to activate or deactivate.
- Choose the Activate/Deactivate Card action.
- If you are deactivating an active card, you are asked to confirm the deactivation. Confirm to continue.
Deactivating an active card makes it inactive; if it was the default card, it is no longer marked as default. A deactivated card cannot be used for payment.
Activating an inactive card happens immediately, without a confirmation prompt, and the card does not automatically become the default card.
