Logs and configuration files

Logs and configuration files for Hardware Station are stored by default at: C:\ProgramData\LS Retail\LS Hardware Station.

If you need to start over setting up devices, it can be helpful to delete everything from this folder (given that you do not have any major setup done that you want to keep). This deletes all configuration that has been done earlier.

Note: If your devices have already been claimed without using the Hardware Station, the service might have trouble claiming them. In this case, restart your computer, start the Hardware Station service, and try to detect hardware in LS Central again.

Management Portal

After you update the Hardware Station and then log onto the Management Portal, the device panel is sometimes empty or a device that has been added in the latest version is not visible.

This happens because the web browser has an older version of the Management Portal in the cache and has not refreshed it. It varies between web browsers how to refresh the cache.

Google Chrome:

  1. Click F12 in the your web browser.
  2. Right-click the Refresh button, and select Empty Cache and Hard Reload.
  3. Click F12 again, and log onto the Management Portal again.

Firefox:

  • Press Ctrl+F5, which should do a hard reset.

Tip: If neither of these work, try opening the Management Portal in a private window (Firefox) or in an incognito window (Google Chrome).

Connection to Hardware Station fails

  • Check the LS Central settings: in the POS Hardware Profile in LS Central make sure that the Hardware Station IP address is correct.

  • Make sure the Firewall is not blocking the service on the computer it is running on.

LS Pay

  • Currency must match, that is the LS Central store currency and currency settings on the PED (Pin Entry Device) must be the same.

  • Check that the information on the PED in the configuration is correct (IP adress, if required, and so on). If this information is not correct, Hardware Station will not be able to communicate with the PED.
