How to: Create an Insurance Scheme

Insurance schemes are used to define which insurance company a call should be directed to when a prescription is handled. The insurance scheme is then used on the Pharmacy Customer Card, see How to: Create a Pharmacy Customer.

  1. Go to Departments - LS Retail - Pharmacy - Pharmacy Setup - Prescription - Insurance - Insurance Scheme List.
  2. Click New on the Home action menu.
  3. Fill in the fields in the General FastTab:

    Field Description
    Code Here you enter a name for the insurance scheme, for example STANDARD.
    Description Here you write a short description of the insurance scheme.
    National Insurance Select this check box, if the insurance scheme is part of a national insurance system.
    Tender Type Here you select the tender type, if needed.
    Tender Type Name The name of the tender type that you selected in the previous field appears here.
    Customer No. Here you can select the customer from a list, if needed.
    Customer Name The name of the customer that you selected in the previous field appears here.
    Manual Amount Available Select this check box, if there should be a manual maximum amount that the pharmacy customer should pay.
    Max Customer Payment If the Manual Amount Available check box is selected, you define the maximum customer amount here.
  1. Fill in the fields in the External Service FastTab:

    Field Description
    External Service Select this check box, if external services should be used. Information is obtained from the insurance company.
    Invoice No. Series Here you can select a number series for the insurance invoices, if needed.
    Server URL Information is obtained from the insurance company.
    Server User Information is obtained from the insurance company.
    Server Password Information is obtained from the insurance company.
  1. Fill in the fields in the Insurance Scheme Line FastTab:

    Field Description
    Type Here you can define the insurance scheme down to insurance scheme lines.

    The options are:

    • All
    • Classification Group
    • Special Drug Group
    • ATC Group
    • Division
    • Category
    • Product Group
    • Product
    • Article
    Code Here you can select a code for the insurance scheme type.
    Description The description of the code appears automatically here.
    Insurance Payment % Here you can define the percentage the insurance company should pay for the selected code.
