How to: Set Up a Drive-Thru

Setting up a drive-thru

  1. Create a new hospitality type.
  2. Select the desired restaurant and sales type.
  3. Either apply the Drive-thru: With KDS, Stay within Sales POS template, or select First Come-First Serve (Drive-thru) in the Service Type field.
  4. Adjust the KDS settings, if necessary.
  5. For the POS terminals that are used, include a button with
    • the CONFIRMORDER command to switch to a new order after order taking.
    • the GETNEXT command to load the order that is next in queue into the Sales POS to take payment for the next order.

In the Demo data, restaurant S0008 contains a drive-thru hospitality type. POS terminal P0018 is designated for the drive-thru and uses the #HOSP-DRIV menu profile that has the START menu with GETNEXT and the FIXFUNC menu with CONFIRMORDER.

It is possible to use a Queue Countersto mark the transaction and the KOT with a running number for identification for the customer and the kitchen.

Note: The service flow that the Over the Counter hospitality type is using must use Transaction Status Tracking and Kitchen Order Tracking.
