You can let the system display items on KDS display stations immediately after they are added to an order:
- When the staff member adds the first item of an order, the system creates a KOT with this item and sends it to the KDS.
- When the staff adds the next item, the system adds the item to the same KOT and sends it to the KDS.
- The KOT is displayed on the KDS display stations in chronological order, with the item first added on top.
This is especially useful for quick service restaurants and drive-throughs.
Note: If you select this option for a hospitality type, the items for an order are going to be added to the same KOT and will be displayed in chronological order on the KDS display stations.
If you select another option for another hospitality type in the same restaurant and select to have items added to a new KOT on order modification, the items for this KOT are going to be displayed in production time order on the KDS display stations.
You could end up with a mixture of the two methods on the display stations, unless you let the hospitality types use a different set of display stations and route items accordingly.
Note: In the current version, this method should not be used when item routing exists for printers.
