The hotel property manages availability by room type. All rooms in LS Central for hotels must have a Room Type.

To create a new Room Type

  1. From the Navigation menu in the Hotel Back Office role center, click Hotel Setup to display the Navigation bar.
  2. Click Room Types.
  3. Click the New action, and fill in the necessary data.

The tables below list and describe the fields in the FastTabs on the Room Type page.

General

Field Description
Room Type Unique ID for the room type.
Property The property this room type is in.
Name The name of the room type.
Description Description of the room type.
Bed Type Specifies what bed type this room type includes.

Tip: In the Hotel Bed Type List you can create multiple bed types:

  1. Click the icon, enter Bed Types, and select the relevant link.
  2. Click the Edit List action, and insert the bed type and description in the list.
No. of Persons The maximum number of all guests (adults and children) allowed in the room type in the existing bedding.
No. of Adults The maximum number of adult guests allowed in this room type (less or equal to No. of Persons).
No. of Children The maximum number of children allowed in this room type (less or equal to No. of Persons).
No. of Extra Beds The number of children that can stay in extra beds in this room type.
No. of Cribs The number of children that can stay in cribs in this room type.

Housekeeping

Housekeeping rules that are applied to a room can be overwritten for each room type.

Field Description
Check-in Housekeeping Rule Specifies which housekeeping rule is applied to the room at check-in on arrival date.
Stayover Housekeeping Rule Specifies which housekeeping rule the housekeeping job applies to the room, when a reservation is staying over (excluding arrival and departure date). Only used when a reservation is longer than one night.
Check-out Housekeeping Rule Specifies which housekeeping rule is applied to the room when a reservation is checked out.
Vacant Housekeeping Rule Specifies which housekeeping rule the housekeeping job applies to the room when it is empty.
Room Swap Housekeeping Rule Specifies which housekeeping rule is applied to the room, when a reservation is moved from the room, when there is a room swap.

Displays a list of all rooms for this room type.

Restrictions

Displays a list of all restrictions for this room type.
