Housekeeping Operations
In this article
The LS Central for hotels solution offers a visual tool for housekeepers to view and manage the housekeeping statuses of rooms, whether on a tablet, mobile device, or laptop.
The Housekeeping Operations feature provides an overview of all the rooms in the hotel, with options to filter the view as needed. You can access the feature through the Role Center's Actions area, the Housekeeping drop-down menu, Housekeeping Operations. The feature is also available from the Hotel POS front desk (using a button with the RUNOBJ POS command with parameter HSKP).
Rooms
Each individual room has an area with room number, room type, and housekeeping room status (in text and background color).
If a reservation is allocated to the room, more information is displayed. The table below lists the information that may be shown.
Icon or text | Description |
---|---|
This icon is displayed in the top-left corner of the room information area, if there is a reservation which checked out today. The icon tells the housekeeper that the room is Ready for clean-up. | |

This icon is displayed in the top-left corner of the room information area, if there is a reservation that has yet to check out today. Tells the housekeeper that the room is Not ready for clean-up yet. |
This icon is displayed behind the numbers indicating elapsed nights out of total nights. For example, 2/3 means that the reservation has stayed 2 out of 3 nights. | |
Indicates the number of adults and children on the reservation. Below the icon, two numbers are displayed, 2 / 0, meaning there are 2 adults and no children. | |
CI | Indicates that a reservation is checking into the room. Below this text, the check-in time is displayed. |
CO | Indicates that a reservation is checking out of the room. Below this text, the check-out time is displayed. |
SO | Indicates that the reservation is a Stayover. Only displayed if the reservation includes a comment, extra bed, or crib. |

Housekeeping room statuses
In this document, the term Housekeeping Room Statuses refers to the following statuses:
Status | Description and link to Back Office Housekeeping Status |
---|---|
Clean | The room is currently clean. Might either be Vacant Clean or Occupied Clean. |
Unclean | The room is currently dirty. Might either be Vacant Cleaning Request or Occupied Cleaning Request. |
Do Not Disturb | The room is currently set to Do Not Disturb (DND), indicating that the guest prefers cleanup to occur later in the day, if at all. |
Inspection | The room is currently under inspection. This applies to both Inspection and 2nd Inspection. |
Being Cleaned | The room is currently being cleaned. |
These are the statuses that a housekeeper can change by clicking an individual room and selecting the desired status from a list. The room's status and color is updated accordingly.
Note: When a room has a Housekeeping Status of Out of Order or Out of Service, the housekeeper has no control over the room. The room information is blurred.
Filters
There are three types of filters that can be used either individually or simultaneously. These are Quick Filters, Drop-down Filters, and the Search Bar.
Quick filters
The quick filters are colored boxes, with five colors representing different housekeeping room statuses (see table above) through color coding, and two colors indicating rooms with reservations that check out today, either Ready for clean-up or Not ready for clean-up. When you activate a quick filter, it filters the rooms by that specific status.
Note: Only one quick filter can be applied at a time.
Drop-down filters
There are three drop-down filters. The first filters rooms by reservation status: All, Arriving, Departing, or Staying.
The second one filters rooms on different Floors, and the third in different Buildings. Each drop-down allows only one option to be selected at a time. However, the filters can be used individually or together as well as with the other two types of filters.
Search bar
The search bar allows for filtering of rooms by entering specific keywords or phrases. As text is typed into the search bar, the list of rooms is dynamically filtered to match the input. You can use this feature to find rooms by attributes such as room number and room type. The search filter works in conjunction with other filters, allowing a more refined and targeted search.
A Clear All Filters button is available to simplify the process of removing all selected filters, reducing the need for manual adjustments.
