The following image is an example of the Expeditor display station:
- The first chit is displayed in the left top corner, the next one below and so on.
- Chits are displayed in columns. When less than 50% of the chit does not fit into the column, the whole chit is displayed in next column to the right. Otherwise, the chit is cut into parts to fit into the columns.
- Each chit has a top, middle, and bottom part.
The top part includes:
- On the left, the table number and an ID for the preparation stations the items are sent to.
- On the right, both numbers are minutes; the top one indicates minutes since the order started, and the one below counts down the total production time of the order. When the order time has been reached, a negative time is displayed.
The middle part includes the items in the order.
- When an item has modifiers, they are printed indented, one modifier per line.
- It is also possible to group the items by seat number. Then a comment with the seat number appears above the items. See Group Items by Seat No. on Chits.
The bottom part displays the name of the waiter the order is registered to and the KOT number.
- When the screen becomes full it automatically flows onto the next page, with the text Page x of xx displayed in the top right corner.
- An active chit has a blue box around it.
- A yellow chit has been more than 5 to 7 minutes past the production time in the KDS system.
- A red chit has been more than 7 minutes past the production time in the KDS system.
- When a chit is bumped the chits are reorganized on the display.
