Configuring Service Flow for Coursing

KDS Coursing uses Coursing Kitchen status to track the status of each menu course in a Coursing KOT.

To set Coursing Kitchen status tracking

  1. Click the icon, enter Hospitality Service Flow List, and select the relevant link.
  2. Select the appropriate service flow or create a new flow.
  3. Turn on Coursing Status Tracking.
  4. In the Serving Flow field, select whether you want courses to be manually or automatically served after they are fired.
  5. In the Show Current Course field, select whether you want the current course of the dining table service to be the first course fired that has not been served, or the last course that was fired. The current course is an indication of where the dining table is at - is it on appetizers, main, or dessert, and so on. The dining table is marked with the abbreviation of the current menu course. If no course is found, the first course that is announced is the current course.

Note: If you have selected to have courses automatically served after firing, it is recommended to select Last Course Fired in this field.

Example: An order includes 3 courses; Appetizers, Main and Dessert.

Last Course Fired: After announcing the courses, Appetizers becomes the current course. When the Appetizers is fired, it stays as the current course. When the Main course is fired, Main becomes the current course. When the Dessert is fired, Dessert becomes the current course. Serving a course does not change this.

First Course Fired and Not Served: After announcing the courses, Appetizers becomes the current course. When the Appetizers is fired, it stays as the current course. When Appetizers is served, the current course becomes Main. When Main is served, Dessert becomes the current course.

  6. Open the Coursing Status FastTab.
  7. Fill in the Status Description and Status Abbreviation fields for each status.
