CFD Preparation Station - Example

A CFD Preparation Station (Customer Facing Display Preparation) usually shows the orders/chits with 3 or 4 digit order IDs in the header, the same as on Customer Facing Display station.

The chit appears on the station when the order is sent to the kitchen and disappears when the order is bumped from the expeditor, then it appears on the CFD instead.

Here is an example on how to set that up.

1 Configure the cue counter

The Hospitality Type or the Store/Restaurant in question must be set to use Queue CountersThe queue counter for the transaction represents the Order ID and the KOT is marked with this Order ID.

2 Configure a display profile

  1. The CFD Prep station should always be of the type Chit Display.
  2. Open the KDS Display Profile List, and click the KDS Chit Header Designer action.
  3. In the KDS Chit/Line Columns FastTab, open a new line (click Manage - New Line), and set the KDS Data Type to KOT Data.
  4. Set the Field Data to Customer Order Queue No..
  5. Be sure to set the Width (%) to an appropriate value (100 if it should fill the entire line).

See How to: Design a Chit Display and a Line Display (KDS Display Profile) for more information.

To set the font and size of the Chit Header style profile, see How to: Set Up Colors, Fonts, and Font Sizes (KDS Style Profile) for more information.

3 Configure the CFD Preparation Station

  1. Go to the Display Station List, and open the card for the CFD Prep station.
  2. The field Display Station Type should be set to CFD Preparation.
  3. Set the appropriate Display Profile ID in the KDS Profiles FastTab. Create a new style, if needed.

4 Add the CFD Prep station to the routing information

In order for something to be displayed on the CFD Prep, the items must be routed to the CFD Prep.
