Managing Customer Tenant Updates

To help you schedule your update work, we specify the expected release day of the W1 version on-premise on the Country Availability page on the partner portal. The Localized version is expected to be released within 5-10 working days after the release of the W1 version.

When a new version of LS Central on-premises is released, you can download the release and set it up to test your extensions on the latest release. We provide a release candidate two weeks before the release so you can start the update preparation.

When the version is available in SaaS, you do the following:

  • Create a sandbox by copying the Production environment
  • Upgrade the environment
  • Test business-critical scenarios
  • Test your extensions

If this is successful, you can schedule an update date for the production environment.

The update for the production will be carried out on that date within the update window. The updated window is usually 6 hours outside the customer's business hours. When the tenant has been created, you set this window in the Business Central Admin center.

What should I test before an update?

We strongly recommend that you test any critical business scenarios before your production environments are updated to the new major or minor version.
