The Actual Discount Performance calculation allows you to evaluate the effectiveness of a Periodic Discount and helps facilitate demand forecasting for similar future discounts. The process compares average sales during the discount period with those during non-discount period to determine the increase in demand driven by the discount.
The calculation is supported for Periodic Discounts of type Discount Offer, Multibuy, Mix & Match, and their associated archived records.
To calculate Actual Discount Performance
The Actual Discount Performance calculation process compares average sales during the discount period with those during non-discount period to determine the increase in demand driven by the discount.
- Click the
icon, enter Discount Offer List, Multibuy Discount List, or Mix&Match Offer List, and select the relevant link. - Select an existing Periodic Discount.
- Fill in the fields related to the Actual Discount Performance calculation:

- The date range will not be automatically populated. - As Validation Period
- The date range will be populated with the same value as the Validation Period of the discount. - Validation Period in the Past
- The date range is set to the same length as the Validation Period of the discount, with the Non-Discount Period Ending Date set to a day before the start date of the Validation Period. - Date Formula
- The Non-Discount Period Ending Date is set to a day before the start date of the Validation Period. The Non-Discount Period Starting Date is calculated by applying the formula as specified in the Non-Discount Period Date Formula field in Replen. Setup, based on the Non-Discount Period Ending Date. - Click Discount Performance - Actual Performance - Calculate Actual Discount Performance. This action will bring up the Calculate Actual Discount Performance report.
- Click OK to calculate the actual discount performance.

| Non-Discount Period Starting Date
Non-Discount Period Ending Date |
These fields specify the start and end dates of the non-discount period for this periodic discount. This date range determines the historical sales used to calculate the average non-discounted sales. The date range will be automatically populated depending on the Non-Discount Period Default setting in Replen. Setup. Below are the available options for this field: |
| Consider Sales Hist. Adj. in Daily Sales (Disc.) | This field specifies if Sales History Adjustment is considered in the calculation of daily sales for the discount period. |
| Consider Sales Hist. Adj. in Daily Sales (Non-Disc.) | This field specifies if Sales History Adjustment is considered in the calculation of daily sales for the non-discount period. |
| Consider Out of Stock in Calculation | This field specifies if Out of Stock is considered in the calculation of daily sales. When enabled, out of stock days and the sales that occurred on those days are excluded from the daily sales calculation. |
| Calculate per Store | This field specifies whether the actual discount performance calculation is done per store. When not enabled, the calculation is done for all stores combined. |
Note: For a periodic discount to qualify for Actual Discount Performance calculation, both the starting date and ending date in the assigned Validation Period, as well as the Non-Discount Period Starting Date and Non-Discount Period Ending Date, must be specified.
To view Actual Discount Performance lines
The Actual Discount Performance line is calculated for each item and store associated with the periodic discount, as defined in the Periodic Discount Lines and the assigned Price Group.
- Click the
icon, enter Discount Offer List, Multibuy Discount List, or Mix&Match Offer List, and select the relevant link. - Select an existing Periodic Discount.
- Click Discount Performance - Actual Performance - Show Actual Discount Performance.
- Daily Sales (Non-Disc.) = 0
- Daily Sales (Non-Disc.) < 0
- Daily Sales (Disc.) <= 0
The following table describes the fields in the Actual Discount Performance page:

| Discount No. | This field shows the discount number. |
| Type | This field shows the type of periodic discount. |
| Item No. | This field shows the item number. |
| Variant Code | This field shows the item variant code. |
| Store No. | This field shows the store number. If Calculation per Store is not enabled for the periodic discount, this field will be blank. |
| Daily Sales (Disc.) | This field shows the average daily sales of the item in each store during the discount period, considering the sales generated by the discount on the days where the discount was active. |
| Daily Sales Comparison (Disc.) | This field shows the average daily sales of the item in each store during the discount period, including all the sales (discounted and non-discounted) that occurred on the days where the discount was active. |
| Daily Sales (Non-Disc.) | This field shows the average daily sales of the item in each store during the non-discount period, considering non-discounted sales that occurred on the days where the discount was not active. |
| Daily Sales Comparison (Non-Disc.) | This field shows the average daily sales of the item in each store during the non-discount period, including all the sales (discounted and non-discounted) that occurred on the days where the discount was not active. |
| Exception Exists | This field shows whether an exception exists. |
| Exception Reason | This field shows the reason for the exception. The possible values are: |
| Exception Handling | This field specifies how the exception is handled. It is defaulted to Ignore Line when an exception exists. An Actual Discount Performance line that is set to Ignore Line will not be considered in Planned Discount Performance calculation. |
| Lift Factor % | This field shows the percentage change in demand of the discounted sales when compared to non-discounted sales. |
| Disc. % | This field shows the discount percentage applied to the item. |
| Price Elasticity | This field measures how much the demand quantity increases as a result of the price drop. It's applicable to Periodic Discount of type Discount Offer. |
| No. of Sales Days (Disc.) | This field shows the number of days where the discount was active, excluding the out of stock days. |
| No. of Sales Days (Non-Disc.) | This field shows the number of days where the discount was not active, excluding the out of stock days. |
| No. of OOS Days (Disc.) | This field shows the number of out of stock days where the discount was active. |
| No. of OOS Days (Non-Disc.) | This field shows the number of out of stock days where the discount was not active. |
| No. of Stores | This field shows the number of stores included in the average sales calculation, when Calculation per Store is not enabled for the periodic discount. |
| Orig. Planned Daily Sales (Disc.) | If the Planned Discount Performance was calculated for the periodic discount before the Actual Discount Performance, this field shows the item’s planned daily discounted sales. |
| Orig. Planned Daily Sales (Non-Disc.) | If the Planned Discount Performance was calculated for the periodic discount before the Actual Discount Performance, this field shows the item’s planned daily non-discounted sales. |
| Orig. Planned Lift Factor % | If the Planned Discount Performance was calculated for the periodic discount before the Actual Discount Performance, this field shows the item’s planned percentage change in demand of the discounted sales when compared to non-discounted sales. |
