Setup Options for Infocodes

The following is a list of fields that are relevant for setting up infocodes:

General

Prompt Specifies the prompt text shown to the user when the infocode is triggered.

Type

Specifies the infocode type:

  • Not specified
  • Selection
  • Date Input
  • Numeric Input
  • Item Input
  • Customer Input
  • Staff Input
  • Create Data Entry
  • Apply to Entry
  • Text Input
  • Group

Data Entry Type

Specifies an optional data entry type that controls validation or formatting.

Triggering

Specifies whether the infocode is shown automatically or only on request.

Display Option

Specifies how the infocode is displayed (Pop-up, Lookup, Number Pad, Alphabetic Pad, or none).

Input Required

Specifies that user input or at least one selection must be provided.

Once per Transaction

Specifies whether this infocode can only be triggered once per transaction.

Linked Infocode

Specifies another infocode that is automatically triggered after this one.

Infocode Validation Period ID

Specifies a validation period restricting when the infocode is valid.
Link Item Lines to Trigg. Line Specifies that sales lines created by the infocode are linked to the triggering item line.
Allow MSR Cards Specifies that magnetic stripe card data entry is allowed for this infocode.

 

Configuration

Min. Value

Specifies the minimum numeric value accepted (for numeric input).

Max. Value

Specifies the maximum numeric value accepted (for numeric input).

Min. Length

Specifies the minimum allowed length for text input.

Max. Length

Specifies the maximum allowed length for text input.

Value is Amt./Qty.

Specifies that an entered value represents an amount or quantity used in calculations.
Std. 1. In Value Specifies that the standard value 1 is prefilled (commonly used for quantity/amount input).
Random Factor % Specifies the probability as a percentage that this infocode will be triggered.

 

Lookup/Pop-up

Pop-up Type ID

Specifies the ID of the pop-up type that is used for this infocode.

If not set, the system uses the first pop-up type it finds with pop-up main handler Infocode and selection type Select Options.

Explanatory Header Text

Specifies optional header text shown as header for the options (the default is the first 30 characters of the Description).

If you include %1 in the text, the program will replace it with the description of the triggering item.

Min. Selection Specifies the minimum number of options the user must select (0 = optional).
Max. Selection Specifies the maximum number of options the user can select (0 = unlimited).
On Max. Selection Signal OK Pressed

Specifies whether reaching the maximum selection will automatically signal OK, as if OK was pressed in the pop-up.

This only applies if the maximum selection for the infocode is greater than zero. If part of a group, the OK Pressed Action field on the group determines the behavior when maximum selection is reached.

 

Printing

Print Prompt on Receipt Specifies whether the prompt text is printed on the receipt.
Print Input on Receipt Specifies whether the entered input/value is printed on the receipt.
Print Inp. Name on Rcpt. Specifies whether the selection (subcode) description is printed on the receipt.
