Deleting images/videos from media library

Images and videos can be added to a Kitchen Station. This can be used to display advertisements and promotional videos on the customer facing display while the customers are waiting for their order to be made in the kitchen.

The media panel is a component that is added to the information profile. The information profile is then added as a component to the Kitchen Station in it's visual profile. Each information profile can contain one media component along with other fields such as a station name or the time of day.

Configuring the media panel

In LS Central:

To set up a media panel for your Kitchen Station:

  1. Click the icon, enter Kitchen Station Information Profile List, and select the relevant link.
  2. Either create a new information profile or edit an existing one depending on where you want to add the media component.
    Note: If you want to maximize the media panel while the kitchen station has no order, it is the whole information panel that is maximized.
  3. Edit the number of columns and rows on your information profile to be able to add the media field to your information panel. If you are creating a new information panel that should only include the images or video then enter 1 column and 1 row.
  4. Add a new line to the Kitchen Information Fields. Select Field Id Media and fill in which column and row the media should fill in the information panel. If it is only 1 field in the panel enter 1 into all the column and row fields.
  5. Now make sure this information panel is added to a visual profile for your station. See Visual Profile . The visual profile also needs to be selected on the Kitchen Station.

In the Web KDS: 

Now images or videos need to be assigned to the media panel:

  1. When all these configurations are done it is time to reload your configurations on the Web KDS side. Open the Configuration page and enter your password.
  2. Press the button Reload configurations and wait for the configurations to be updated.
  3. Press the button Media Library.
  4. In the media library you can upload all images and videos you want to display in your media panels. The images and videos are uploaded to the installation folder of the Web KDS. When the uploading is done, the files go back to the Settings page.
  5. Now press the button Media Selection.
  6. In the Media Selection page you should see one row for each of the information profiles that include a media component. Press the + button to select media for each component. When the button is pressed a selection popup opens where you can select one or more images or a video. To be displayed on the Kitchen station. If you have selected multiple images you can enter a time in seconds which is the time to display each image before rotating to the next image.

Deleting images/videos from media library

The images and videos are saved in the installation folder of the Web KDS.

To clean up images and videos that are no longer in use:

  1. Open the Web KDS Configuration page and enter the password.
  2. Press the Media Library button.
  3. To delete an image or video press the Delete button in the line of the image/video you want to remove. The In Use column lists all kitchen stations the image/video is displayed on.
