Retail Charge

Charge Types

Fixed amount A set amount specified in the Charge field, applied to the transaction regardless of which items are included in it.
Fixed PercentageA percentage specified in the Charge field, calculated on the total net or gross amount of each item in the transaction. The total charge is the sum of the calculated amounts for each item (the calculated amounts are not rounded) and applied to the transaction regardless of which items are included in it.
Variable Amount. An amount specified for each retail charge line, based on the included items, product groups or special groups.
Variable Percentage. A percentage specified for each retail charge line, based on the included items, product groups or special groups. For each applicable item, the percentage is calculated on the item's base amount and rounded according to the POS functionality profile settings. The total charge amount is the sum of these calculated amounts.

Additional Specifications

The charge can be calculated on either the net or gross amount.
Retail charges can be triggered manually or automatically (when total is pressed or split bill is pressed), depending on store, sales type, menu type, or number of guests.
VAT or tax is added to the total charge amount according to the assigned income account.
The charge is printed on the receipt.
Retail charges can apply to specific items, product groups, special groups or all items.
Items, product groups, and special groups can be excluded from the charge.

Note: The Retail Charge Type can be extended for customization.

To create a retail charge

You set up retail charges in the Retail Charge Card.

Click the icon, enter Retail Charge, and select the relevant link.

Click New to create a new retail charge.
Fill in the fields according to tooltips.
Store No. and Income Account are mandatory fields.

Example - Delivery Charges

The retail charge adds the fixed amount 10 to an order in Store S0008 with Sales Type DELIVERY when Total is pressed.

Example - Retail Charge on product group

The retail charge adds charge of 10 to Product Group MEAT excluding item 32120. The charge is calculated on the gross amount. The RETAILCHARGE command is assigned to a POS menu button and is manually pressed to apply the charge.

There are two lines:

Product Group MEAT, Charge Amount 10.
Item 32120, Exclude.

Example - Service Charge by guest count

The retail charge adds 15% charge in restaurant S0005 if guest count is 5 to 9, 10% if guest count is 10 to 14, and 5% if guest count is 15 and higher when total is pressed.

The charge is on net amount excluding discount of all item lines except for drinks.
The service charge is also applied when split bill is pressed.
The service charge is not calculated on a transaction that is already split (the service charge has been split between the guests).
