Joining Dining Tables

You can seat guests at more than one dining table by joining dining tables together to form a dining table group.

You can join dining tables using the following methods:

How joined dining tables work:

  • One dining table in the group acts as the master table, displaying the table number and/or description. Other tables in the group are linked to the master table (or to other joined tables), share the master table’s color, and only show their own description.
  • The master table holds all seating and orders for the group. If you join a table that already has seating or an order to another table, the system transfers that seating or order to the master table.
  • The seat capacity of the master table is the total seat capacity of the group.
  • When a joined dining table group becomes free (after guests have paid and their order has been served), the system automatically separates the tables in the group.
  • If you move the master table, all joined tables move with it.
  • Tables remain joined across all dining area layouts.
  • When seating guests from the Dining Allocation panel with more than one dining table allocated, the system can automatically join those tables. You can control how this works using the Seating Multiple Table Allocations setting for the dining area.
