Dining Table Orders and the KDS

The Restaurants POS and the KDS system are two systems that work together. Orders are sent from the Restaurants POS to the KDS system and then order’s statuses are sent from KDS to the Restaurants POS.

The order process includes:

  • The Order created in Restaurant POS
  • The Order sent to KDS
  • The Order worked on in the KDS
  • Updating the order’s status in the Restaurant POS
  • Viewing the order’s status in Restaurant POS.
Restaurants POS   KDS
  • One or more items are entered for the table.
  • Order is created and sent.
  • Items that are configured for the KDS are sent to KDS.

 

  • Items are added to the Order.
  • Order is sent.

 

 

 

  • One order can be many KOTs.
  • Items are displayed on kitchen displays according to the setup.
  • Production time is a factor when items are displayed on the preparation stations.
  • Items are ordered by production time.
  • Another KOT is created with the added items or the items are added to the KOT (depends on setup).
  • Items are ordered by production time.

 

 

 

 

  • Statuses for order lines and orders are updated.
  • It is possible to view the order’s status and progress.

  • KOTs and item lines are displayed with various signs to show their progress.
  • Item lines are bumped on preparation stations.
  • KOTs are bumped on expeditor stations.
