To allocate a dining table automatically by rank with section pop-up
You can allocate dining tables automatically to a reservation. The program uses the dining table allocation ranking when picking a sufficient number of available dining tables to allocate to the reservation.
There are two possible ways of allocating dining tables automatically to a reservation. Usually, only one of these should be visible to the user:
- The allocation takes places immediately after you select the Automatically menu command. Any section filtering has to be done before selecting the command. If a section filter has been set in the panel, this section filter is used to limit the tables allocated.
- The program displays a dining area section pop-up window after you select the Automatically menu command. If a section filter has already been set in the panel, this section filter is used to limit the dining tables allocated and no section pop-up window appears.
If not enough dining tables are available, the program allocates the available dining tables and informs the user that more dining tables are needed. The reservation becomes partially allocated.
You allocate dining tables in the Dining Allocation panel on the POS.
To allocate a dining table automatically by rank with section pop-up
- Select the desired reservation list entry row and the Table column.
- Select Automatically from the drop-down list (if the reservation is within the seating time limit, you first press Allocate tables, and then Automatically from the drop-down list).
- In the Dining Area Section pop-up window, select one or more section you want to pick dining tables from.
- Click OK.
If you do not select any dining area sections in the pop-up window and click OK, the program picks dining tables from any dining area section.
If you select Cancel in the pop-up window, the automatic allocation is canceled.
