To allocate a range of dining tables
You can allocate a range of dining tables to a reservation.
There are three possible ways of selecting the starting and ending dining tables of the range. Usually, only one of these should be visible to the user:
- Select the starting table and ending table in the dining table view (time-line or graphical).
- Type the starting dining table description in the alphabetic dialog window that appears, and then type the ending dining table description in the alphabetic dialog window that appears.
- Type the starting dining table number in the numeric dialog window that appears, and then type the ending dining table number in the numeric dialog window that appears.
You allocate dining tables in the Dining Allocation panel on the POS.
To allocate a range of dining tables
- Select the desired reservation list entry row and the Table column.
- Select Range of tables from the drop-down list (if the reservation is within the seating time limit, you first press Allocate tables, and then Range of tables from the drop-down list).
- Select the starting dining table in the dining table view.
or
- Type the starting dining table description in the alphabetic dialog window.
or
- Type the starting dining table number in the numeric dialog window.
- Select the ending dining table in the dining table view.
or
- Type the dining table description in the alphabetic dialog window.
or
- Type the dining table number in the numeric dialog window.
Note: You can cancel the range allocation after selecting the first dining table by clicking the button Allocating: From Table Press to Cancel. The program will only allocate the first dining table selected and no others.
The program allocates all available dining tables that are in the range from the dining table with the lower number to the dining table with the higher number. The allocated dining tables may belong to different sections.
If the capacity of allocated dining tables does not cover the number of guests in the reservation, the program informs the user that more dining tables are needed. The reservation becomes partially allocated.
The program disregards the dining table allocation ranking and ignores any section filter that has been set in the panel.
Tip: You can easily cancel the allocation of individual dining tables.
