How to: Set up a customer's Private Stock

By default, the Stock Location of a Dispense Order is determined by the Default Stock Location configuration in the Dispense Setup. If a customer owns a Private Stock location, you can configure it as follows:

  1. Navigate to the Dispenser Role Center.
  2. Click Private Stock.
  3. Click New.
  4. In Customer No. and Stock Location, enter the customer to whom the private stock belongs and specify the stock location.
  5. In the Customer Private Stock Items section, enter all the items that the customer may have at the stock location.

Note: After completing these steps, the system checks whether a private stock exists for the Invoice To customer and uses it if available. You may need to add inventory to it using Business Central’s standard processes, such as Item Journal posting.
