Dispensing Order Lines
Each Dispense order line represents a medication used by the customer.
The Dose Pattern field is essential to understand. It defines when medicine should be taken and can be configured in one of three ways:
- Empty ValueWhen the field is left empty, the medicine should be taken daily.
- Montlhy PatternWhen the field value begins with the letter M, it must be followed by two digits representing the day of the month.Example: M15 indicates that the medicine should be administered on the 15th day of each month.
- Day-by-day PatternWhen the field contains only 1s and 0s, each position represents a specific day, starting from the dispense order’s next dispense date. 1 indicates the medicine should be taken on that day, while 0 means it should not.Example: If the Next Dispense Date is 01/01/2026 (dd/MM/yyyy) and the dispense order is to be processed for a week, a Dose Pattern of 1001001 means the medicine should be taken on the 1st, the 4th and the 7th.Note: In this case, when the Dose Pattern contains fewer days than the period being processed, the pattern repeats in sequence until the full period is covered. Also, the pattern is shifted when the production is posted if the next dispense date is another day of the week than the previous starting day.
Below is an explanation of some other key fields:
| Field | Description |
| Pharmacy Item No. |
The pharmacy item to be dispensed.
Note: It is only possible to select pharmacy items marked as Dispense Items. See How to: Mark Items as Dispense Items. |
| Prescription No. | Number of the prescription associated with this line. |
| Prescription Type |
What kind of prescription this is. Allowed values: General, Electronic, Other. |
| Expiring Date | This is the expiration date of the prescription in the line. The production stops if one or more lines expire before the start date of the production. |
| Alternative Delivery Location |
Fill in if the medicine is to be delivered to a location other than the one specified in the Dispense Order header. Note: Lines from the same order generate separate Dispense Production Orders if they have different Delivery Locations. |
| First Production Date |
Specifies the date on which the initial production was or is expected to occur. Note: If the Dose Pattern field is already filled with a Day-by-day Pattern, the user will be prompted to confirm whether the pattern should be shifted so that the originally scheduled processing days remain aligned. Example: If the First Production Date is moved one day forward, a pattern of 010 will be shifted to 100, ensuring that the same days continue to be processed. |
| Start Date | Use this to define when the line should be treated as ready for production. |
| End Date | Use this to define when the line should no longer be considered for production. |
