Tax Invoice and TRN Printing
Under UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) rules, receipts for taxable supplies must be issued as Tax Invoices and must show the supplier's Tax Registration Number (TRN). The Print Tax Invoice on Receipt toggle on the POS Functionality Profile adds this compliance header to every receipt printed from the POS.
Before you start
Make sure the company's TRN is recorded in the VAT Registration No. field on the Company Information page. If that field is blank, the TRN line is not printed.
Enable Tax Invoice printing
- Click the
icon, enter POS Functionality Profile List, and select the relevant link. - Open the relevant profile.
- In the Amount group, turn on the Print Tax Invoice on Receipt toggle.
What prints on the receipt
When Print Tax Invoice on Receipt is on, the following lines are added to the top of the receipt, above the slip/staff/date sub-header:
- If Arabic Receipt is on and the relevant Arabic caption is set on the profile, the Arabic label prints first as a centred line. The system uses Arabic Tax Invoice on sale transactions and Arabic Tax Credit Note on return transactions.
- The English designation prints as a centred line: TAX INVOICE for sales, or TAX CREDIT NOTE for return sales.
- The TRN line is printed in one of two formats:
- If Arabic TRN is set on the profile: <Arabic TRN>/TRN: <VAT Registration No.>
- If Arabic TRN is blank: TRN: <VAT Registration No.>
- A separator line is printed below the TRN line.
Bilingual caption fields used in this header
The following fields in the Arabic Receipt group on the POS Functionality Profile control the Arabic text in this header. They are only used when Arabic Receipt is also on:
- Arabic Tax Invoice — Arabic label printed above "TAX INVOICE" on sale receipts.
- Arabic Tax Credit Note — Arabic label printed above "TAX CREDIT NOTE" on return receipts.
- Arabic TRN — Arabic prefix printed in front of the "TRN:" label on the TRN line.
You can turn on Print Tax Invoice on Receipt independently of Arabic Receipt if you want an English-only Tax Invoice header.
