There are two ways for Customer Order items to end up in a Put Back state:

  • The user presses the Cancel Order button or the Cancel Line button in the collect process.
  • The Collect Time Limit on a picked line passes before the customer collects the order. If the LSC Put Items Back Scheduler job is scheduled to run, the outstanding picked quantity is put back automatically. See To have expired items put back automatically.

To start the Put Back process for an order

  1. Press the Customer Orders button to display the order list.
  2. Press the To Put Backfilter button in the bottom menu in the Customer Order List on the POS.
  3. Select an item, and press the Put Back button on the right side to mark the item. Or scan the items to mark them to be processed.
  4. You can also press Put All Items Back to mark all items in the list to be processed.
  5. When you have selected all items to be put back to their place in the store, press the Confirm button.
  6. The items are now fully processed.

The LSC Put Items Back Scheduler job (codeunit 10000703) finds picked Customer Order lines whose Collect Time Limit has passed and puts the outstanding quantity back into stock, without a staff member having to process the order on the POS.

For each expired line, the job checks the following before acting:

  • The line has been picked (Qty. Picked is greater than zero), and its Collect Time Limit has passed.
  • No payment has been registered for the line. If a payment exists, the line is left unchanged and must be resolved manually.

When both conditions are met, the job cancels the outstanding picked and collected quantities on the line, resets Quantity Received to 0, and adds a canceled entry to the Customer Order status log. After processing a Customer Order's lines, if the order has nothing left to pick or collect, it is posted automatically.

Note: This job only runs when the LS Central Scheduler is set up to run it. For instructions on how to run the Scheduler with the Task Scheduler or the NAS, see Scheduler.

To have the Scheduler run the job, you create a Scheduler Job to run codeunit - 10000703:

  1. Click the icon, enter Scheduler Job List, and select the relevant link.
  2. Choose New to create a new Scheduler Job.
  3. In the Job ID field, enter a unique identifier, for example PUTITEMSBACK.
  4. In the Object Type field, select Codeunit, and in the Object No. field, select LSC Put Items Back Scheduler (codeunit 10000703).
  5. Set the Time Between Check and Time Units fields for how often the job should check for expired lines, and set the Next Check Date and Next Check Time fields for when the job should first run.
