Updating Recipe Where Used

The Update Recipe Where Used process recalculates recipe gross weights for the current recipe and propagates the changes through related recipes.

Use this function when you have made changes to a recipe's structure—such as adding, removing, or changing quantities of ingredients—and you want those changes to be reflected in the gross weights throughout the recipe hierarchy (both in recipes that include this recipe as a component, and in recipes that this recipe includes).

The function does not modify ingredient-level data; it only recalculates and propagates weight values based on the current recipe structure.

  1. Open the Recipe List.
  2. Select the recipe you want to update.
  3. On the Actions menu, select Update Recipe where Used.
  • The system updates gross weights downward: Recalculates the LSC Gross Weight field on all ingredient (BOM component) lines under the current recipe (and recursively through any child recipes).

  • The system updates gross weights upward: Recalculates the LSC Gross Weight field on all ingredient (BOM component) lines in parent recipes that use the current recipe as a component, and synchronizes the recipe version code on those parent lines.
