Setting up Nutritional Information
To store and show nutritional information for recipes and dishes, start by defining which nutrients you want to track.
After that, you can enter nutrition values in three ways:
-
Enter values manually for each recipe.
-
Let the system calculate recipe values from ingredient data.
-
Create a product nutrition list, assign nutrition codes from that list to recipes or ingredients, and let the system calculate values automatically from those codes.
To set up the nutrient list
Open the Nutrients page under LSHospitality > Setup > Meal Planning > Nutrition > Nutrition Nutrients, then create one line per nutrient.
The Line No. controls the display order of nutrients.
Note: You can update the nutrient list even after nutrition values have been entered for recipes, ingredients, and product nutrition records.
-
If you rename a nutrient, the new name is updated everywhere that nutrient is used.
-
If you delete a nutrient, related entries are removed after a confirmation prompt.
-
If you add a new nutrient, it is added to all ingredients, recipes, and product nutrition lists that already contain nutrition values.
To set up product nutrition groups and categories
Product nutrition categories and groups help organize the product nutrition list so it is easier to find products with nutrition profiles similar to a recipe or ingredient.
This setup is optional.
