The following BOM Methods are available for recipes:
- No exploding: No exploding.
- Explode at Entry: Explodes the recipe when the recipe is entered at the POS.
- Explode at Posting: The recipe is exploded when a statement is posted. The recipe ingredient are filtered by the sales type for the sale items.
- Produce: Recipes are produced in the Day Plan.
When Explode at Posting is used and the Aggregate BOM at Statement Posting option is enabled in Retail Setup, the ingredient lines created during statement posting are not posted to the item ledger immediately. Instead, they are collected in a staging table and aggregated before posting. This reduces the number of item ledger entries for operations that sell the same recipe ingredients across multiple POS terminals. See BOM Aggregate Statement Posting for details.
