Ingredient Exclusion Modifiers

You can assign item modifiers to a recipe ingredient so that when the ingredient is excluded, the POS prompts for those modifiers as alternatives.

To set up ingredient exclusion modifiers

1. Open the Recipe Card page.
2. Select the desired ingredient line.
3. Select an exclusion modifier: 
   • In the Exclusion Modifiers Assigned field, select No to open the Item Indocodes (Item Modifiers) page, or

   • Click Line, Exclusion Item Modifiers, on the action tab for the Ingredients group to open the same page.

4. Select an item modifier in the Infocode field. The When Required field is automatically set to On Excluding Ingredient.
5. Close the page.
6. The Exclusion Modifiers Assigned field then changes to Yes.

Note: This feature is only valid for POS Pop-up VersionEnhanced.

When you close the BOM pop-up panel after excluding ingredients that have exclusion modifiers assigned, the system prompts opens pop-up for those modifiers.

Note: The selected modifiers are linked to the recipe in the same way as other recipe modifiers. They do not replace the ingredient definition in the recipe itself.
