Find As You Type, POS Hardware Profile

If there is a check mark in this field the lookup will start as soon as you start to type. All Alphanumeric buttons on the keyboard and the minus (-) sign are automatically used in the lookup. To activate other buttons do the following:

Select Setup -> LS POS -> Hardware Profiles. Press the Profile button and select b>Key Commands.Enter the name of the key in the Key Name column and in the Key Type column set the type as Search.

If you are using the SQL Server Option, the Find as You Type field will only be available in the Find window if you have set the Allow Find As You Type database property when you created the database or altered the database accordingly. If you have set this database property, you can turn the Find as You Type feature on and off in the Find window.

When this feature is in active mode, the system uses the Keyboard mapper in the POS.
